Janice Trimpe a well experienced sculptor, with fate moved on Laura's same street in 2015. They hit it off right away and became close friends. Not too long after, Janice hired Laura as her assistant by repairing broken sculptures, helping out in the studio, and worked her way up to sculpting with Janice. They enjoyed shopping, learning mold making for glass, producing glass sculptures and creating together.
Laura had the privledge to work with Janices' final commissioned sculpture before she passed away from cancer in Februrary of 2018.
Leon Ricelli was a World War II soldier, 1st Lt. of Cannon Company, 20th Infantry Regiment, and was awarded the Bronze Star with valor for gallantry under fire during the Battle of Luzon in 1945. It was important for Janice and Laura to keep the integrity and life like features as he salutes proudly. The bronze monument of Leon Ricelli was presented as a 85th birthday present to his widow Rose. Janice and Laura started sculpting August of 2016 and installed the finished bronze May 2017, where he stands in front of Leons' son's residence in New Jersey.
Janice shared her knowledge of what it takes to produce a bronze monument and passed it down to Laura. With that knowledge and experience, Laura's goal now is to create sculptures where Janice left off.
